NEWS IN BRIEF

UK heavy truck sales already reached pre-crisis 2007 levels

Echoing the rosy picture already seen in this year’s passenger car market, in West Europe’s strongly recovering truck world the UK also stands out as a pillar of strength.

That’s in the sense that in the fast-recovering UK truck market this year’s half-year sales of heavies – 15,459 units - have already topped the like-for-like 12,462 sold during the first half in pre-crisis 2007.

Somewhat dampening the prevailing optimism, however, this year’s excellent turnout still trails the higher 18,552 heavies sold in the UK during the first half in 2008.
