Renaultís ZOE, thanks in large measure to the ongoing appeal of generous government subsidies for electric cars in domestic France, was not only Decemberís best-selling electric car in Western Europe. Making it a double victory, ZOE also captured the regionís top-seller crown for the whole of last year, according to AIDís own regular monthly European electric car sales figures
Renaultís ZOE, following a strong finish in last yearís French domestic electric car market, where its December registrations ballooned to a towering 1,581 units
- half its regional sales - completed last month with just over 3,000 sales in Western Europe.
ZOE, after keeping Teslaís hard-challenging Model S safely at armís length, comfortably took the coveted number one position as West Europeís top-selling electric car in December.
Thanks in no small part to the strong rally enjoyed in its domestic December market, ZOE also captured the number one slot for the whole of last year.
With ZOE placed firmly in the number one position in last yearís West European electric car market, with AID figures showing some 18,400 registrations, last yearís runner-up slot went to Teslaís Model S after a neck-and-neck finish with Nissanís LEAF, which took last yearís number three
