Heavy truck demand in Europe defies doom and gloom predictions

West European Heavy truck sales quarterly changes 2015

West Europeís heavy truck market, echoing the continuing upbeat trends already spotted in the regionís passenger car market, has not lost the capacity to surprise outsiders and ever the autoindustry itself. 

Confounding the doomsayers, who predicted a flat market at the beginning of this year, West Europeís market for heavy trucks recorded double-digit growth in eight of the past nine months. 

AID forecasters, encouraged by no detectable heat loss to date, now believe that this yearís West European heavy truck market is heading for the best annual turnout since 2008.

Since the beginning of this year sceptics have been confounded as West Europeís heavy truck market has continued to recover far faster than forecast. 

Sales this September rose 17.8 per cent, bringing the cumulative truck sales gain after nine successive months of strong and unwavering recovery growth to a matching 17.8 per cent. 

The double-digit rates of recovery growth seen in eight out of the past nine months has led AID forecasters to the upbeat view that the regionís long-lingering truck sales famine could soon be over and normal service might now resume a great deal earlier than feared
