Italy car sales trends April sales 2015 plus history

Like Turin’s Juventus F.C, which is back in the Champions League final for the first time since 2003, Italy’s car market, after spending half a dozen years out in the wilderness, is now also in the throes of making a well orchestrated comeback

A measure of Italy’s strengthening green shoot recovery is an accelerating underlying rate of car sales recovery, culminating this April with a 24.2 per cent car sales surge. 

It brings Italy’s cumulative car sales total to 578,088 after 4-months, up 16.2 per cent, keeping the market on track for a second successive year of recovery growth.

After last year’s first unsteady steps, since the beginning of this year Italy’s advance on the recovery road has continued to gather added momentum. 

So much so in fact, that last year’s hesitant recovery effort - up 4.2 per cent - has given way to what now looks like a strong and potentially lasting rebound
