All is not lost for Europeís long-squeezed volume carmakers

The comparatively fast transformation from also-ran status to up-and-coming consumer darling is an extremely rare phenomenon in todayís largely status driven cut-throat automotive world. And yet, Nissanís miraculous recent rebound in Europe, after more than a decade of futile efforts to at least stem the relentless erosion of its European market share, gives hope to some of the regionís long-suffering volume carmakers that their fate is by no means sealed.

Nissanís zombie-like rising from the grave is testament to the seemingly long-forgotten industry truism that with the right products everything else follows. 

To that can be added the no less miraculous rebound from Britainís Jaguar Land Rover. 

Yet more recent history shows the promising sudden ascent from Mitsubishiís long-mired European operation, which so far this year stands out as the single biggest winner in Europeís car sales chart.
