This year’s ebbing Swiss car market, for long Europe’s 4x4 car sales capital, picked up where it left off from last year’s record result, with four-wheel-drive (4WD) passenger cars grabbing a forever climbing sales share
This year's 4WD car sales share in Switzerland, excluding all light commercials, is almost guaranteed to touch the record 38 per cent mark, which has been the annualised sales rate during this year’s first ten months.

That compares with an already sky-high 35.2 per cent during the same period last year and 25.8 per cent just five years earlier.
To put this in perspective, in West Europe’s wider car sales scene, 4WD passenger cars captured a record 12 per cent of last year’s new car market, following four successive years of continuous unbroken growth.
AID forecasters predict that yet another new 4WD car sales record will be set this year.
