Renault hoping for heavy traffic in West Europe’s recovering Medium Van sector following the launch of its new Trafic Light-Commercial-Vehicle

In a fiercely competitive market sector where last year just 4 percentage points separated the top five manufactures in this segment across Western Europe, fourth placed Renault with a 15 per cent market share – ahead of Fiat Group but trailing Mercedes Ford and Volkswagen respectively – has launched a new version of its Trafic Medium Van with which it hopes to steal at least some valuable market share from its main sector rivals.

In a gradually recovering sector that, like cars, has taken a severe hammering from the ill-effects of the recently endured eurozone crisis, Renault says it now has the youngest fleet out of the region’s LCV (Light Commercial Vehicle) makers. 

Newly armed with its new French-made Trafic range, following last year’s market debut of its refreshed Kangoo and Master range, Renault hopes to carve out a bigger piece of Europe’s revitalised Light Commercial Vehicle market.
