Despite a quick sprint out of the blocks, and yet another double-digit gain during March itself, a further slowing in the market’s underlying rate of advance seems the best that can be expected. The way things are looking at present, this year’s Chinese passenger car market remains on course to conceivably touch the 17m level. If indeed it turns out that way, China will have further consolidated it’s already unassailable lead in the world’s passenger car market. 17m
