China’s SUV-Crossover segment stays on the boil - Ford sector sales drive

Despite a quick sprint out of the blocks, and yet another double-digit gain during March itself, a further slowing in the market’s underlying rate of advance seems the best that can be expected. 

The way things are looking at present, this year’s Chinese passenger car market remains on course to conceivably touch the 17m level. 

If indeed it turns out that way, China will have further consolidated it’s already unassailable lead in the world’s passenger car market.

In the process, and including built-up imports, China will easily outperform both this year’s likely new car sales in Western Europe as well as this year’s likely US Light-Vehicle sales.

Of the dominant forces of this particular quarter, or for this matter the underlying developments during recent months which have enough momentum to shape the future, two stand out: The first is the contrasting performance from domestic and foreign carmakers, the second, near unchanged sizzling demand for trendy SUV-Crossovers.
