Russia’s previously speeding car sales locomotive stopped in its tracks
During the whole of last year Russia’s new car sales fell 5.1 per cent to 2.6 million units

Too little too late. Despite an outwardly confidence inspiring 9.1 per cent rise in Russia’s December car sales, during the whole of last year Russia’s new car sales fell 5.1 per cent to 2.6 million units, according to AID compiled car sales figures for last year. AEBRUS, Russia’s autoindustry federation, commenting at the publication of better December car sales, says there is little prospect of an upturn in the current year. For the whole of 2014 it is projecting largely unchanged Light-Vehicle sales

Russia’s new car market, echoing to an extent the lingering consumer uncertainty in much of the eurozone, may have seen ten months of continuously slipping sales during the course of last year, but there was better news during November, and December in particular.
