India Datsun Go launch with CEO Carlos Ghosn

Nissan’s Datsun brand, dead and buried for close on three decades, has been brought back to life and from early next year its first products will again be fighting for customers in India, currently the world’s leading market for cheap and cheerful small cars

Carlos Ghosn, earlier this week, while unveiling in India the company’s first Datsun-badged car in three decades, said that the new car goes on sale in India next year, priced “well below 400,000 rupees” (€5,100).

Likely based on an existing car, it will be called the GO.

A compact five-door hatchback, and following its planned market debut in India early next year, the GO will also be launched in a number of other highly price-sensitive car markets
